One app to monitor animal welfare and organise day-to-day work
Animal Welfare Monitor supports the team in the field, from a phone or tablet, even offline. Its web version is used to prepare data collection, analyse results and organise the teams' work. One app, in the field and on the web, with the same data.
In the field and on the web, the same data
Monitoring animal welfare relies on data collected regularly, as close to the animals as possible (welfare assessments, behavioural observations, health and environmental measurements, notes and photos), then brought together so it can be compared over time and shared with the whole team.
In the field and on the web, Animal Welfare Monitor shares the same data: what is entered in the field appears in the web version, in the animal records, dashboards and analyses, with no double entry. The app is co-designed with the teams of zoological parks and laboratories.
Data is hosted in Europe, is GDPR-compliant and remains the property of the institution, which can export it at any time.
What the app does in the field and on the web
Animal Welfare Monitor in the field
On phones and tablets (Android and Apple), in six languages, the app supports the team in the field: rapid welfare assessments, species-specific questionnaires, focal sampling and scan sampling, health and environmental measurements, enrichments, notes and photos. Without a network connection, data collections, notes, photos and measurements are stored on the device, then sent once the connection is back.

Animal Welfare Monitor on the web
On a computer, the platform is used to prepare data collection campaigns, consult animal and enclosure records, analyse results (dashboards, time budget, use of space, rapid assessment scores) and organise the teams' work. It also imports animals from ZIMS (Species360).

Assess and observe
Data collection campaigns are prepared in the web version: questionnaires, focal or scan observations, animals concerned and observers. The team downloads them to the mobile app, carries them out in the field, even offline, then finds the results and their analyses on the platform.
Organise day-to-day work
With the Digital Sector Logbook programme, recurring tasks, sector information and prescriptions are created in Animal Welfare Monitor. In the field, everyone finds their tasks, confirms they have read the information, carries out treatment administration tasks and fills in the sector's daily report.
Monitor animals and enclosures
Health measurements (weight, appetite, body condition…), environmental readings, notes and photos entered in the field are added to the individual and enclosure records on the platform, with their curves and history.
