Animal Welfare Monitor
Know what is left in the pharmacy, and where
Which batches expire this month? Is there any meloxicam left in the clinic fridge? What was given to which animal? Kept by hand, a park's pharmacy quickly falls behind reality.
In Animal Welfare Monitor, the pharmacy stays up to date through what the team already does: scanning boxes on delivery, putting a batch in a kit, ticking off a treatment task in the sector logbook.
The veterinarian knows at any time what is in stock, what is about to expire and where each vial is kept.

Every medication, every batch, every expiry date
The catalogue gathers the park's medications. Each medication carries its batches, sorted by expiry date.
- Medication sheet — name, molecules, form, stock unit, categories (antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiparasitic, anaesthetic or sedative, vaccine…), storage, photo and barcodes.
- Batches — number, expiry date, quantity, supplier and location of each batch.
- Alerts — batches expiring within 30 days, expired batches to remove from stock, medications low in stock.
- No batches if you prefer — a medication can be tracked without batches or expiry dates.
Scan a box, and the stock is up to date
On delivery, scan each box with a USB scanner or the computer's camera: the medication is recognised by its code, and the batch and expiry date are read from the barcode when it contains them.
- Quantity worked out — number of boxes times units per box; scanning the same box again adds one more.
- Suggested location — the received batch goes to the default location, which can be changed before saving.
- Without a scanner — “Manual” receiving lets you pick the medication from the list.
- Shared base — a veterinarian can offer a medication sheet to other parks; once reviewed by the Akongo team, it pre-fills the new medication when its box is scanned. Only the sheet is shared, never stock, batches, prices or movements.
Where every vial is kept
Central pharmacy, fridge, locked cabinet, sector kit: each batch is assigned to a location.
- The park's locations — pharmacy, fridge, cabinet, kit or other, with a default location.
- Sectors served — a kit can be linked to the sector it serves.
- Grouped stock — by medication, by location or by molecule.
- Move a batch — all or part of it, to another location, with a reason (for example restocking a kit).
Every movement recorded, down to the treatment given
The log records everything that comes in and goes out: receipts, moves, treatments given, stock count corrections, disposals and returns.
- Treatments given — for a medication tracked in the pharmacy, ticking off the prescription task in the sector logbook, on the web or on the phone, lowers the stock, starting with the batch that expires first. If the task is reopened, the stock is given back.
- Who and why — each movement shows who made it, where it came from and why; a link opens the treatment task.
- Stock count — correct a batch after counting, remove an expired or damaged batch, view a batch's history.
- Filters and export — by period, location, medication and movement type, with a CSV export.
